Nantymoel RFC lost their fouth consecutive league game of the season away to Ystradgynlais RFC but were leading 9 - 6 early in the second half.
On a beautiful spring day that was made for running rugby the half time score was a surpising 6 - 6 after outside half Rhys Anderson had slotted over two penalties.
And at the start of the second half Anderson put Nantymoel in the lead with his third penalty but that was the last points for Nantymoel.
Soon after a try for Ystradgynlais which went unconverted put them into a 11 - 9 lead which they would not surrender. And things were then made more difficult for Nantymoel as flanker Ben Wareham was shown a second yellow card for not retreating 10 yards at a penalty which turned into a red and Nantymoel were reduced to 14 players for the rest of the game.
Ystradgynlais with a man advantage then turned the screw and run in three further tries, one of which was converted, with the last one coming from the final play of the match which earned the hosts a winning bouns point.
Despite holding Ystradgynlais into the start of the second half this was a disjointed performance from Nantymoel with the players playing as individuals rather than a team.
Next up is Penlan RFC at home next Saturday and a game Nantymoel must look to take something from and to kick start their season..
